Kent Lund's Metal Folk Art Paddle

Paddle Artisan, Kent Lund of Grand Rapids Paddle Company has sent in some photos of his latest creation. It is a hybrid cherry wood and aluminum display paddle based on this Folk Art Paddle with a snake motif featured on the site back in 2009.

Kent's version is made with a layer of 6061 aluminium sandwiched between two layers of black cherry wood. The grip has been carefully sculpted and looks lovely...

After highly polishing the aluminium blade, Kent sandblasted the surface to create the the lily pad designs on the blade. Very creative!
